Abdullah M Rubel: Ziaur Rahman reached the milestone of 4000 runs in first-class cricket.
The hard-hitter reached the milestone against Rangpur Division at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on the day-2 of 3rd round of the 20th Walton National Cricket League (NCL) on Tuesday.
Zia was 39 runs off the milestone before he entered the ground on Tuesday. He smashed a brilliant fifty, before returned to the pavilion. He was able to bag 53 runs off 89 balls with 7 boundaries.
He touched milestones in 108 matches with 8 centuries and 16 fifties. His best is 167 runs.
Zia’s bowling statistics is not bad comparing to the batting. He has been waiting for a milestone in bowling too. In 108 matches, he bagged 192 wickets. He needs only 8 wickets to reach the milestone of 200-wicket. His best bowling figure in the first-class cricket is 5/36. He also achieved five-wicket haul in innings for times in the first-class.
