Fire at cargo boat in Chattogram

A fire broke out at a cargo boat anchored in the sea near Patenga on Friday night.

The fire originated around 11.30am and fire service men brought the fire under control around 2.30am.

Officer of Karnaphuli EPZ Fire Station Md Nahid confirmed the news.

The cargo boat was anchored in the sea near Patenga as a result we needed about one hour to reach there. There were five sailors in the ship and all of them managed to reach offshore, he said.

The amount of losses and cause of the fire could not known yet, he also said.
