Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah made DSE chairman

Staff Correspondent, DHAKA, Feb 14: Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah, a retired Supreme Court judge, has been elected the new chairman of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

The DSE Public relations department news release said this on Friday afternoon that he was elected at a meeting of the board of directors.

Earlier, on Thursday night the Annual general meeting (AGM) of the organisation was held while 7 independent directors and 4 shareholders were made directors.

Before that the regulatory authority of BSEC gave final approval of seven independent directors. Beside, four directors were elected on Tuesday.

They were known as Shakil Rezvi, Khaza Golam Rasul, Mohammad Shajahan and Sharif Anwar Hossian.

Beside, the independent directors were known as UGC member professor Abul Hashem, former secretary Waliul Islam, BUET professor M Kuikobad, FBCCI first vice-president Monoara Hakim Ali, Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah, ICMAB former president Md Ruhul Amin,FCMA and Brigadier general Mujibur Rahman (PSC).
