Transport strike in Khulna division withdrawn

Secretariat Correspondent: The indefinite strike called by transport workers in the southern districts has been withdrawn.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, State Minister for Home Affairs, made the announcement after a meeting with transporters at the conference hall of his ministry office in the Secretariat on Monday afternoon.

He said that all kinds of public transpirations will ply on roads in the 18 routes of southern districts from Monday night.

The transporters called the indefinite strike last Wednesday in protest against the arrest of a driver and his assistant in a case over robbery in a night coach.
