Special security in waterways ahead of Eid

Staff Correspondent: The government is going to take special steps in waterways to ensure security of home-bound people during holy month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
A source of shipping ministry said that special directions will be given to stop ticket selling in black market and taking actions against over-laden launches.
Rescue ships Hamza, Rustam, Nirvik and Prottoy will be kept stand by for any unexpected accident.
A joint meeting will be held at Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Bhaban on Sunday around 11:00am in this regard.
Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan said that the passenger ships will be under strict surveillance so that the ships or launches cannot take extra passengers.
