Marcel sees robust growth in TV and Fridge business

Economic Correspondent : The local electronics brand Marcel has witnessed a remarkable growth in its business as the sales of its produced refrigerator, television, blender, rice cooker, microwave oven, electric kettle and other home and kitchen appliances are increased following the upcoming Eid.

The traders said they were experiencing huge crowd at the outlets of Marcel as the local brand attracted the customers through releasing eye-catching models of high standard products at cheap rate.

Now, the customers are showing keen interest to the local brand Marcel than the traditional brands of the country’s electronics market, they said.

The assurance of supplying high standard products at affordable rates, eye-catching design, replacement guarantee and swift after sales service and is resulted in gaining the customers’ faith and marking remarkable business growth in the recent times, they added.

It was learnt that the Marcel outlets are furbished with new models of various kinds of products, including refrigerator, television, rice cooker and so on.

Following Eid, Marcel has released three new models (254 litre, 317 litre and 295 litre) of refrigerator during the month of Ramadan.

In addition, the local brand has brought 28-inch and 32-inch world-class standard LED television and two models (2.8 liter and 3.2 liter) of rice cooker in this month.

Motiur Rahman, marketing head for the south region of Marcel, said Marcel has now turned into a popular brand in the country’s electronics and electrical goods market as the quality of local brand products are better than that of the imported products.

 


As the Marcel brand products provide higher utility compared to the cost, demands for Marcel products are largely increased among the customers, Rahman said.

He hoped that Marcel would be turned into a premier brand in the country’s electronics market within a short period.

Mosharaf Hossain Razib, marketing head of Marcel for the north region of Marcel, said they have won the customers’ heart by manufacturing world-class standard products in accordance with the customers’ purchasing power, demands and taste through adapting latest technology.

The new models of refrigerator, television and rice cooker have received a sound response from the customers, he said.

“Already, we have achieved the sales targets, set by the company for the month of Ramadan,” he said adding, this year they recorded 100 per cent growth in their business compared to the previous year.

Considering the present market penetration and growing demands, the Marcel authority has divided the country’s entire geographic into two main parts---south and north---to bring the local brand’s products within the customer’s reach.

It was also learnt that DECS Ultra-bid 4D technology is being applied in the refrigerator of Marcel brand. In addition, the use of anti-bacterial nano particle is resulted in keeping the foods spick and span, fresh and antiseptic for long times. The electricity cost is comparatively low due to the use of 80 per cent energy saving LED bulb. Besides that, the local brand has offered six month replacement guarantee if there is any problems in its refrigerators.
