Earthquake jolts Dhaka, other parts of the country

An earthquake was felt in various parts of the country, including Dhaka, on Tuesday morning (January 7).

The earthquake was felt at 7:05 am.

The tremor of magnitude 7.1 hit the Nepal border which were felt in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China and India.

According to United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was 90 km north-east of Lobuche, Nepal.

There have been no reports of any damage to property because of the earthquake.
