Fire at 4-storey building in Paltan

A fire broke out on the second flood of a four-storey building in the capital's Purana Paltan area on Tuesday morning (January 7).

On information, six units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence are working to douse the blaze.

Fire service headquarters control room Duty Officer Lima Khanam said the fire originated around 9:15am. Two fire units started to douse the blaze initially. Later four more units joined the effort.

The cause of the fire and extent of damage could not be known immediately.
