14 more deaths, 1273 fresh positive cases from Covid-19

14 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths in the country to 328.

Besides, 1,273 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 22,268.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (Admin) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Sunday (May 17).

"We've carried out tests on 8,114 samples collected from across the country and 1,273 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 22,268,” she said.

According to DGHS, a total of 4,373 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.
