Desh TV MD Arif Hasan arrested

A team of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Arif Hasan, the managing director (MD) of the private television channel Desh TV, from his residence on Saturday (November 16) night.

Talebur Rahman, the deputy commissioner (media and public relations) of DMP, confirmed the information.

Talebur said, “Desh TV managing director Arif Hasan was arrested on Saturday night and he was later taken to DB office.”

It is learnt that Arif was shown arrested in an attempted murder case filed with the Airport Police Station on July 19 during the student-led mass uprising.

Arif Hasan holds the secretary general post of the Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO).
