‘UK to help interim govt shift to democratic process’

UK State Minister for Indo-Pacific Strategy Affairs Catherine West has assured Bangladesh’s interim government of providing all types of supports to fulfil its vision, establish peace, security and afterwards shift to a democratic process.
She said, “The UK believes the interim government will play an important role in establishing good democracy in Bangladesh.”
Catherine West made the comment while briefing reporters after holding a meeting with Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on Sunday (November 17) morning.
“A path for discussion and cooperation on any issue is always open between the two countries,” Catherine said.
British Under Secretary for Indo-Pacific Strategy Affairs Catherine West came in Dhaka on a welcome visit on Saturday (November 16).
This is the first UK ministerial visit to Bangladesh since the formation of the interim government.
