Journalist Hasan Mahamud receiving Sher-e-Bangla Gold Medal Award
Hasan Mahamud, chief reporter of the country’s popular news portal risingbd.com and president of International Relations Reporters Forum (IRF), has got the Sher-e-Bangla Gold Medal Award-2024 for his outstanding contribution to journalism.
Former Information Secretary Syed Margub Morshed, also grandson of Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Hoque, and Justice Dr. Md. Abu Tarique handed over the award to Hasan Mahamud at a programme in the city on Friday (October 25).
Sher-e-Bangla Fazlul Hoque Research Council organized the programme on the occasion of 151th birth anniversary of Sher-e-Bangla.
Noted Actor Pirzada Shahidul Harun, Chairman of the organization Selina Akhter and Senior Vice Chairman Md Monjur Hossain Esa were also present.
Hasan Mahamud also received the ‘Joint Media Fellowship-2024’ from the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection and the Association of Skincare and Beauty Products Manufacturers and Importers of Bangladesh (ASBMEB).
He started his journalism profession in 2002. He worked with the Dainik Janakantha, Dainik Bhorer Kagoj, Dainik Bhorer Dak, Dainik Manabkantha and Dainik Bartoman.
In 2015, he joined risingbd.com and currently is serving as the chief reporter of the news portal.
Apart from journalism, he is involved in research and writing. So far, he has published 7 research papers and 5 books.
He won the Bangladesh Writers Guild Special Award in 2021.
Hasan Mahamud is serving as the vice president of ‘Cure SMA Bangladesh, the only organization working for the welfare of SMA patients in Bangladesh. He is a member of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), Youth Journalists Forum and Feni Journalists Forum.
He completed his MBA from Stamford University in 2011.
