ACC to starts probe into $300m laundering allegations against Hasina, Joy

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to launch an investigation against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy over the allegations of laundering $300 million.

The watchdog took the decision in a meeting at its headquarters on Sunday (December 22).

Earlier on December 17, the ACC team began a probe into corruption allegations totaling Tk 80,000 crore across multiple projects involving Sheikh Hasina, and her family members.

On August 17, a report published on a Global Defense Corporation website revealed a $5 billion corruption case involving the Hasina family from the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project.
