3 held for abducting college girl, victim rescued

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: Police arrested three abductors and rescued a college student in Gorai under Mirzapur upazila of Tangail on Sunday night.

The detainees’ are- Jahidul Islam, 19, son of Rais Uddin, Siam Mia, 18, son of Abul Kashem, Ashik, 16, son of Liton Mia.

RAB-12 acting company commander Shafiqur Rahman said, mother of a college girl complained that abductors kidnapped her daughter around 11:00pm on Sunday and demanded Tk10 lakh ransom. Later, the law enforcers conducted drive in the area and rescued the girl.

Later, the victim’s family recorded a case with Mirzapur police station in this regard, he said.
