3 killed as truck hits auto-rickshaw in Rangpur

Three passengers of an auto-rickshaw were killed and three others were injured as a truck rammed into the vehicle at Paglapir area on the Rangpur-Dinajpur highway on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Intaz Ali, 35, of Purbo Singair of Nilphamari’s Kishoreganj upazila, Ronjita  Begum, 28, of the same area, and Rani, 40, of Purbo Kholea of Rangpur’s Gangachora.

Taraganj Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Kibria confirmed the news.

He said the speeding truck hit the auto-rickshaw from behind at Paglapir on the road, leaving three auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot and three others injured.
