5 JMB militants put on remand

Staff Correspondent: A court here yesterday placed five members of outlawed Neo Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on a four-day remand in a case filed for planning to attack police.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sottobroto Sikdar passed the remand order on Thursday.

The accused are- Mohammad Shibli Shahajad alias Sadi, Shah M Asadullah Murtaza Kabir alias Ababi, Masrik Ahmed, Ashraful Al Amin alias Tarek and SM Tasnim Rifat.

Earlier on August 8, police arrested the five operatives of Neo-JMB from Dhaka's Bashundhara Residential Area.
