5 new faces in charge sheets

Barguna Correspondent: Police yesterday pressed charges accusing five new people except for the 14 people who were made accused and arrested on suspicion in the case filed over the daylight murder of Rifat Sharif in Barguna, an incident that stirred up a huge public outcry across the country.

A total of 24 people have been made accused in the case.

Two separate charge sheets were submitted based on the ages of the accused. Investigation officer of the case Humayun Kabir submitted chare sheets against 10 accused to the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Sirajul Islam Gazi while 14 others to the Juvenile court.

The five new accused were included to the charge sheet that was submitted to the juvenile court and they are Syed Maruf Billah alias Mohibullah; Rakibul Islam Neyamot; Maruf Mollick; Prince Mollah and Md Nayem, according to a reliable source of police.

Md Rakibul Hasan alias Rifat Farajee; Al Kayum alias Rabbi Akon; Mohaiminul Islam Sifat (absconding); Rezwan Ali Khan Ridoy alias “Tiktok” Ridoy; Md Hasan; Md Musa; Ayesha Siddika Minni; Rafiul Islam Rabbi; Md Sagor and Kamrul Hasan Saimun were included to the charge sheet submitted to the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Sirajul Islam Gazi.

Besides, charges were pressed against Rashidul Hasan Rishan alias Rishan Farajee; Rakibul Hasan Rifat Hawladar; Abu Abdullah alias Raihan; Md Oliullah alias Oli; Joy Chandra Sarker alias Chandon; Md Nayem; Tanvir Hossain; Nazmul Hasan; Md Rakibul Hasan Neyamot; Syed Maruf Billah alias Mohibullah; Maruf Mollick; Prince Mollah; Ratul Sikdar Joy and Arian Hossain Srabon for trial in the juvenile court.
