50 lakh people to get ration cards: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the government will issue ration cards to around 50 lakh vulnerable families during the countrywide shutdown amid coronvirus situation.

From now, rice at the rate of Tk 10 will be distributed through ration cards.

The Prime Minister said while addressing a videoconference on Thursday morning with the public representatives and officials of 8 districts of Dhaka division on the present coronavirus situation in the country.

The districts are Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Narsingdi, Faridpur, Rajbari, Shariatpur, Madaripur and Gopalganj.
