6 JMB members sent to jail

A Dhaka court on Thursday sent six members of banned militant outfit Jamaatul-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to jail after two days of remand.
Dhaka senior judicial magistrate Shahjadi Tahmina passed the order after Inspector Md Jakaria, investigation officer of Savar police station produced them before the court.
The accused are- Omar Faruk Rubel alias Sunny (28), Habibur Rahman alias Badsha (48), Saidur Rahman alias Saidur (55), Mahbubur Rahman alias Dudu (55), Shafiqul Islam Shafiq (37) and Golam Mostafa (51).
Earlier on Saturday (July 18), on a tip-off, a team of RAB-4 arrested the six after conducting a drive in Badda-Bhatpara area of Savar. Meanwhile, several extremism provoking books, leaflets, digital contents and mobile phone sets were seized from their possession.
Later, on July 20, the court granted two days of remand for them.
