710 doctors provided training over coronavirus treatment

Some 710 physicians and 43 nurses have been provided trainings to give treatment to the patients infected with coronavirus across the country.

Dr Habibur Rahman, Director of Management Information System of the Health Directorate, confirmed the development.

He came up with the disclosure in an online briefing of the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Sunday noon.

Habibur Rahman said some 710 doctors and 43 nurses have been provided training over Covid 19. The doctors include resident medical officers of 264 general hospitals, medical officers of civil surgeon offices and physicians of the hospital fixed for coronavirus treatment in Dhaka.

‘Medical technologists of every health institute of the country were provided trainings through video conferencing. The training was completed on Saturday,’ he added.

He expressed hope that these trained medical technologists would collect sample of suspected coronavirus infected people from their own home and send the sample to extended PCR-held hospitals.

He also urged people not visit hospitals for Covid 19 test, but make phone call on 16263 or 333 hotline numbers.
