Cox`s Bazar Correspondent: 727 Bangladeshi migrants and Rohingya being escorted by Myanmar`s navy towards its western state of Rakhine reached at Mongdu in Myanmar on Wednesday.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-42 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Abujar Al Jahid told risingbd that the stranded migrants in water were taken to Mongdu town around 10:00am.
He also said that Myanmar navy escorted four trawlers of migrants through Naf River on Wednesday morning.
Myanmar`s navy informed BGB that they were taking the converted fishing boat to Bangladeshi waters, prompting its neighbor to underline that it would take back only those who were genuinely its citizens, but later clarified the remarks to say the verification process would take place first.
Earlier, Myanmar navy rescued 200 more migrants from a floating boat in sea and sent them at sector-1, Headquarter of Myanmar border.
