Heavy downpour and onrush of water from the upstream triggered flash flood that marooned some 750 families in Rangpur district.
The water level of river Teesta are flowing above the danger level due to the heavy rainfall.
All the gates of Teesta barrage have been opened to reduce extra pressure of water. As a result, 750 families in Gangachara chars have been marooned. Aman seedbeds, burley and nut crops went under water in those areas.
Besides, houses of 15 families vanished due to the river erosion in Gussogram in Shangkardaho Char.
Kolkondo Union Parishad Chairman Sohrab Ali Razu told Risingbd that the flood affected people in the area are in great trouble. Rangpur Water Development Board authority has been informed regarding the issue.
