Asian Development Bank (ABD) has projected eight per cent GDP growth for Bangladesh in the fiscal 2019-20.
ADB Country Director Manmohan Parkash disclosed the forecast at the unveiling ceremony of ADB Outlook-2019 at its office at Agaorgaon in the city on Wednesday.
Strong industrial growth is likely to continue in Bangladesh. Growth in garment export has increased by 10 per cent. The country has been able to woo huge foreign investment due to massive development in infrastructure sector, he said.
Bangladesh economy is in good shape and growth momentum is likely to continue from other south Asian countries like India and Pakistan, he added.
The report has also projected 7.2 per cent GDP growth for India in the fiscal 2019-20 and 2.4 per cent for Pakistan.
