Senior Correspondent: The ruling Awami League (AL) is set to go for actions from July 28 against the leaders who opposed ‘boat’ (election symbol) in recently concluded upazila polls.
Earlier, divisional leaders concerned were given responsibility to verify the allegations against the leaders.
AL general secretary Obaidul Quader said this in a press briefing after joint meeting at the party president’s Dhanmondi political office on Saturday.
He said, “Leaders who rebelled and those gave them assistance, they will face organisational punishment. Till now we got nearly 200 allegations. We provided the allegations to the divisional leaders concerned for scrutinizing. They will probe into the allegations till July 27.”
“From July 28, we will for actions against the leaders who found guilty. Someone might be suspended while someone to be served show cause,” he added.
