ASI killed, 12 injured in Barisal road crash

An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Gournadi police station was killed while 12 others were injured in a road crash on Dhaka-Barisal highway on Saturday morning.
The incident took place at Ujirpur area under Barisal at around 8.30 am when a ‘Eagle’ Paribahan bus was plunged into a roadside ditch there.
The dead ASI was identified as Mokhlesur Rahman, 35 while injured could not be identified immediately after the accident.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Hossen of the Ujirpur police station confirmed the incident.
The injured were taken to the Sher-e Bangla Medical College and Hospital (SBMCH) and upazila health complex.
