All the educational institutions were shut from March 18 following the coronavirus crisis across the country. Dhaka Education Board has directed all English medium schools not to create pressure to pay tuition fees in this situation.

However, there is an allegation that many educational institutions are not maintaining the directions. They said that their institutions run after getting tuition fees. If the tuition fee is not collected then salary of teachers and staff of those institution will face crisis.

On the other hand, Dhaka Education Board said, action will be taken if written allegation found against any educational institutions in this regard.

Dhaka education board school inspector Abul Mansur Bhuiyan said, directions have been provided over the issue. But, some institutions said that they are bound to create pressure to pay salary of teachers. Action will be taken if any guardians filed written complaint.

Harunur Rashid, a guardian of an English medium school student said, educational institutions were shut following government decision. But, the institutions are asking guardians to pay tuition fees through bKash, Rocket and other online platforms.
