Affiliation of 7 colleges: DU students continue demo

Staff Correspondent: The Dhaka University (DU) students locked the gates of academic and administrative buildings for the third consecutive day on Tuesday demanding cancellation of affiliation of seven colleges with the university. 

The main gates of registrar building, arts building, business faculty, Institute of Modern Languages, Institute of Education and Research, and social science buildings were seen locked on Tuesday morning.

Agitated students said, “The affiliation of seven colleges with the university must be cancelled. Otherwise, the movement will continue.”

On the other hand, pro-vice-chancellor Professor Muhammad Samad said, “We have no jurisdiction to cancel the affiliation. It’s the decision of the government.”
Meanwhile, he urged the student to return to the classes.
