Allama Shafi taken to ICU

Hefazat-e-Islam Chief Shah Ahmad Shafi, the director general of Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam, has been admitted to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH). 

He has taken to the hospital around 4:00pm on Tuesday (July 21) on emergency basis after his health condition deteriorated. Currently, he has been kept at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

Allama Shafi’s son Maulana Anas Madanai, also publicity secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam, confirmed the news.

The 103-year-old Allama Shafi has been suffering from complications of several diseases due to old-age. He was taken to the hospital’s ICU a month ago.

He is currently suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, respiratory and hormonal problems. His condition is currently stable, according to CMCH sources.
