Allama Shafi to remain Hathazari madrasa rector until death

Hefazat-e-Islam Chief Shah Ahmad Shafi will continue to serve as the director general of Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam, popularly known as Hathazari Madrasa, until his death.

However, Maulana Sheikh Ahmed has been appointed as his new assistant director.

At the same time, Allama Junaid Ahmad Babunagri has been relieved from the post of assistant director.

The decision was taken in a meeting of Majlis-e-Shura of the madrasa on Wednesday. The meeting started at 10:00am and continued till 3:30pm.

Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Ruhul Amin confirmed the development on Wednesday afternoon.

He said, “No official announcement has yet been made in this regard. However, as much information has been found Allama Shafi will continue as rector of the madrasa until his death.”
