Artist Murtaja Baseer hospitalised

Veteran artist Murtaja Baseer has been hospitalised.

He is currently undergoing treatment at Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the capital Apollo Hospitals.

He was admitted to the hospital after he fell sick on Saturday night.

His daughter Munira Baseer Jui on Sunday afternoon said, “Her father has been suffering from illness for long days. He was admitted to Apollo Hospitals around 1100pm on Saturday as he fell sick. He has been suffering from cardiac arrest and kidney complications.”

Artist, cartoonist and language movement activist Murtaja Baseer is the youngest son of Dr Muhammad Shahidullah. He was born on August 17, 1931.
