Asadullah remanded

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court placed Asadullah alias Foijul Foisal, an accused of LGBT magazine editor Xulhaz Mannan and his friend Mahbub Rabbi Tonoy murder case, on a three-day remand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Mamunur Rashid passed order after Inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Monirul Islam, also the investigation officer of the case, produced Asadullah before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.

The CTTC unit of police arrested Asadullah, the accused of Xulhaz Mannan and Mahbub Rabbi Tonoy murder case in a drive conducted at Tongi of Gazipur on Tuesday night.

Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the news on Wednesday morning.

USAID staff Xulhaz, who used to work as a protocol officer of former US ambassador Dan W Mozena, and his friend Khandoker Mahbub Rabby Tonoy were hacked to death inside Xulhaz' flat in Dhaka's Kalabagan area on April 25, 2016.
