Staff Correspondent: Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, “Police are carrying out an emphatic investigation into the last night's bomb attack at Science Lab intersection in Dhaka. I hope police will come out successful in this regard.”
Quader, also the Awami League (AL) General Secretary, came up with the comment at a press briefing at his secretariat office on Sunday.
“This attack may be a test case of militants to carry out a major attack in future. Law enforcers are on high alert to prevent such attack,” he said.
The AL leader further said, “Militants did not go uprooted entirely. Perhaps, they are in hot water.”
Responding to a question regarding the claim of Terrorist outfit Islamic State (IS) for the responsibility of last night's bomb attack at Science Lab intersection in Dhaka, he said, “We have taken the matter seriously and are looking into it on priority basis.”
Two policemen, including a security detail of LGRD Minister Tazul Islam, were injured in the attack when the minister was passing through the area yesterday night. The minister was unhurt in the attack.
Assistant Sub Inspector AB Shahabuddin had injuries to his legs while traffic constable Aminul Islam suffered splinter injuries to his right-hand fingers during the attack.
