BNP, Jatiya Oikyafront to join polls

Senior Correspondent: BNP and Jatiya Oikyafront are going to participate in the upcoming 11th general election.

Sources said that the top leaders of the alliance took the decision at BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office in the capital on Saturday night. However, no leaders of Oikyafront put comment over the issue. 

Wising anonymity, a top leader of the alliance told risingbd.com that the Jatiya Oikyafront is going to participate the election as part of the movement. But, the party doesn’t deviate from its seven points demand.

Another leader of the coalition said, “We have decided that joining the election would be correct decision. However, there was also a discussion about the alternative regarding the polls boycott. We are participating the polls as part of the strategy.”

Dr Kamal Hossain, the leaders of the alliance will address a press conference at National Press Club around 1:00am on Sunday to disclose the position of Jatiya Oikyafront ahead of 11th general election.
