Bangladesh, Laos declared joint champions

Sports Desk: Bangladesh and Laos have been declared the joint champions of the first edition of Bangamata U-19 Women’s International Gold Cup Football.

The final, scheduled for Friday at Bangabandhu National Stadium, was cancelled due to bad weather.

Senior Vice-President of BFF and tournament organising committee spokesmen Abdus Salam Murshedy confirmed the declaration.

He said that the local and the tournament organising committees jointly decided to abandon the match and the prize distribution ceremony due to bad weather.

“Bangladesh and Laos have been declared as the joint champions,” he said.

The teams will be awarded $20,000 each.
