Bangladesh Shipping Corporation to get 6 more new ships

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) is going to add six more new vessels to its fleet, Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan said. 

The minister made the announcement while addressing the 43th annual general meeting of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation at Shahid Mohammed Fazlur Rahman Munshi Auditorium in Chattogram port on Saturday noon.

Meanwhile, the minister said the government is implementing various types of initiatives to increase the efficiency of BSC. 

He said that the process has already taken to import six sea-bound ships from China for Bangladesh Shipping Corporation. The BSC will be more powerful when the ships will be added.

Shahjahan Khan said, “BSC is working to create skilled manpower in the maritime industry. BSC is providing training facility to the cadets and recruiting them. The organization is also training the women cadets from last four years. The ships of BSC carry the national flag in foreign ports. So, the government is working continuously for the development of BSC to uplift the image and identity of the country.”

BSC Managing Director Commodore Yahya Syed, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation secretary Khaled Mahmud and others spoke at the function.
