Bangladesh beat India by 6 wickets

Bangladesh crushed India by six wickets in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) ground no. 3 in Savar on Saturday.

India managed to score 246 runs losing all wickets. Armaar Jaffer was the highest scorer for India. He scored 105 runs.  

In reply, Bangladesh team reached the target sensibly by losing only four wickets. Skipper Nazmul Hossain Shanto led the victory with 94 runs. Shanto struck 14 fours and two sixes in his 88-ball knock. He was well supported by opener Soumya Sarkar’s 68 ball-73, which was studded by seven fours and three sixes.

Winning two matches of group ‘B’, Bangladesh is currently staying top position of the point table.   

Eight countries joined the Emerging Teams Asia Cup. The matches of the tournaments are being held at Cox’s Bazar and Dhaka. The top two teams from each of the group will play in the semi-finals on November 20 and 21, while the final will be held on November 23. The semi-finals and final will be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Bangladesh will face Nepal at the third and last match of the group ‘B’ on Monday. Earlier, Bangladesh beat Hong Kong by nine wickets.
