Bank official fined for getting married violating lockdown

A mobile court has fined a bank official Tk 15,000 for getting married violating lockdown at Boalkhali upazila in Chattogram.

Assistant Commissioner (land) of Boalkhali upazila Mozammel Haque Chowdhury operated the mobile court on Friday afternoon.

The bank official was known as Abdullah Al-Mahmud. He works at Exim Bank in Dhaka.

According to the mobile court source, Al-Mahmud went Boalkhali from Dhaka on April 27. Then, local union parishad chairman, also coronavirus committee president, put him under home-quarantine for 14 days as he returned from Dhaka. But he was roaming in the area violating the quarantine. He also got married on Friday noon.

Being informed, AC land Mozammel Haque along with army and police members visited the spot and found the allegation true. He immediately operated a mobile court and fined Al-Mamun Tk 15,000. The court also ordered the newly couple to stay in quarantine at separate houses.
