‘Barbed wire fences to be installed around Rohingya camps’

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said the government will install barbed wire fences around the Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar soon, aiming to stop the spread of Rohingyas across the country.

He said, “We will soon install barbed wire fences around the camps as per the directive of the Prime Minister to maintain law and order in the camps and ensure safety and security.”

The minister on Thursday came up with the statement while talking to reporters at the Secretariat at noon following a meeting with US ambassador Earl R Miller.

Earlier, a European Union delegation met the minister at the secretariat.

Kamal also said Bangladesh is now hosting more or less 1.1 million Rohingyas.
