Bollywood stars urged to stop promoting Chinese goods

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has  urged celebrities, especially the Bollywood stars to stop participating in any advertisement that can Chinese products.

CAIT has appealed to stars like Amitabh Bachhan, Akshay Kumar, ShilpaShetty, Madhuri Dixit, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and SonuSood to join hands with it and exert their influence on citizens to dissuade them from buying Chinese products and opt for local made Indian goods instead.

CAIT has also urged the government of India to cancel all contracts given to Chinese companies and their investment in Indian firms.

Condemning the attack on Indian troops which claimed 20 lives, the CAIT has further compiled a list of 3000 items and called for their boycott.

By calling for the boycott of these Chinese products, the objective is to reduce import of Chinese Finished goods by 13 billion USD or about Rs one lakh crore, by December 2021.
