Bus-nosimon collision kills 5 in Gopalganj

At least five people were killed and 10 others injured in a collision between a bus and a nosimon (three-wheeler) at Kashiani upazila in Gopalganj district on Friday morning.

The accident took place around 8:30am in Pona Bus Stand area of the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Bodiuzzama, 50, son of Rafiq Mollah at Tita village of Kashiani upazila, Sumon Munsi, 30, son of Belayet Munsi of the upazila,  Mizan Fakair, 50, son of Balzu Fakir, Layek Fakir, 50, son of Ajiron Fakir, and Sirajul Islam, 35, son of Abi  Mollah.

Officer-in-Charge of Kashiani Thana Azizur Rahman said a Dhaka-bound bus of Falguni Paribahan hit a nosimon carrying 15 construction workers, leaving two dead on the spot and 13 injured.

Later, three died at Kashiani Upazila Health Complex, Gopalganj General Hospital and Faridpur Medical College Hospital respectively.
