Capital market to be strengthened: Finance Minister

Staff Correspondent: Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said that the country’s capital market will be strengthened like the economy.

“The capital market is not strong like economy. We want to strengthen the capital market. There are some problems in the capital market, we want to resolve those”, he said.

The finance minister said this at a views-exchange meeting with stakeholders at NEC conference room in city’s at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Monday.

Senior Secretary of Economic Relations Division Md Asadul Islam presided over the meeting.

Governor and deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank, chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, chairman of Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, chairman of Bangladesh Development Bank Ltd, chairman of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh, chairman of Sadharan Bima Corporation, managing directors of Sonali Bank Ltd, Agrani Bank Ltd, Janata Bank Ltd, Rupali Bank Ltd and ICB Bank and chairmen and directors of Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) were present at the meeting.
