Launch capsize in Buriganga: One more body recovered

Morning Bird, the capsized launch in the river Buriganga that sank a day earlier, has been pulled out of water.
Members of Fire Service, Coast Guard, River Police and BIWTA recovered the launch around 12.00pm on Tuesday.
After that one body was recovered around 12.45pm, taking the death toll in the launch capsize to 33.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Duty officer of Fire Service Headquarters Rusel Shikder confirmed the matter.
Earlier from the morning, the rescuers continued their operation for the second consecutive day to recover the capsized launch.
BIWTA Chairman Commodore Golam Sadik said it was our challenge to rescue the capsized launch and the channel is now clear.
Morning Bird, a small launch travelling to Dhaka from Munshiganj capsized within seconds in the river with around 50 passengers on board in Farashganj area after being hit by another big launch.
