Cargo aircraft of Egyptian onion arrives Monday

The first cargo aircraft of onion imported from Egypt will arrive in Dhaka on Monday.

S Alam Group has imported huge onion from Egypt, and the first shipment of the onion is expected to reach country on Monday, said Abdul Latif Baksi, Public Relations Officer of the Commerce Ministry.

The government has recently taken the initiative to import onion by cargo aircrafts. Then, the government will supply onion to retail markets across the country.

The government has taken the move to bring the unusual price hike under control.
