Century-old building collapse: Two bodies recovered

Senior Correspondent: Two bodies have been recovered from the century-old building that collapsed on Wednesday noon at Patuatuli in Old Dhaka.
A fire service team recovered the bodies from the two-storey building.
The deceased have been identified as Jahidul Bapari and his son Shafiqul Bapari.
“Some portions of the building located beside Sumana Hospital at Sadarghat have collapsed. Three units of Fire Service are conducting a rescue operation on the spot,” Rasel Sikdar, duty officer at the control room of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.
Several fruit sellers used to live in the century-old building. The building was earlier declared abandoned, according to the locals.
