Coca-Cola to invest $200m in Bangladesh

Economic Correspondent: Soft drink manufacturing company Coca-Cola has taken a plan to invest $200 million in Bangladesh in next five years.

The multi-national company will invest $50 million in the next year alone.

A six-member delegation of the company met Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun and informed him about the plan on Thursday.

Brian Smith, president and chief operating officer of The Coca-Cola Company, lead the delegation. Industries Secretary Abdul Halim and additional secretary Begum Porag were present at the moment.

Urging the delegation to send the specific invest proposal to the ministry, Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said, “His ministry will provide all kinds of assistance in this regard.”
