Cold wave kills 5 in Moulvibazar

At least five people, mostly workers, have died during a cold snap in Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar.

The deceased were identified as – Rakhal Chasa, 46, son of Subal Chasa, Dangama Kurmi, 60, wife of Appalu Kurmi, Buleshwari Tulia, 60, wife of Razendra Tulia, Haria Bin, 60, son of Mira Bin and Anjab Ali, 65.

Kamalganj upazila nirbahi officer Ashekul Haque said, five people were killed in the district in last two days due to cold disease.

Sources said, four old persons including a woman worker died in a tea state in Shamshernagar union. Besides, another old man named Anjab Ali, 65 died in Kamudpur shelter center in Alinagar union following cold wave.

Shamshernagar union parishad member Sitaram Bin confirmed the deaths of four old people.
