Conditioning camp to begin without Mashrafe, Tamim

Sports Correspondent: The conditioning camp of Bangladesh team will be started from Sunday ahead of the Test match against Afghanistan and the Tri-nation series.

Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has asked for a leave as he is not fully fit. Besides, Tamim Iqbal also has sent letter to cricket operations seeking leave from the upcoming home series.

The conditioning camp will be launched from August 18 without the two national team cricketers. Although BCB did not announce the team yet for the home series. The camp will be started with 35 players as the leave application of Mashrafe and Tamim is accepted.  

Minhajul Abedin Nannu, chief selector of Bangladesh Cricket Board said, “We kept him (Mashrafe) in our primary squad. But, he is not fit fully. Secondly, we are basically arranging team for Test and T-20. He is out of the two formats.”

Following Tamim issue, Minhajul said, “Tamim asked for a leave which was granted. As a result, he will remain out of this series for sure.”

The conditioning camp will be ended on August 27 before the Test match against Afghanistan.
