Convicted UP chairman lands in jail

A court in Barguna sent convicted Fuljhuri Union Parishad Chairman Golam Kibria to jail in a case filed over assaulting.
Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Sirajul Islam Gazi passed the order on Tuesday. The UP Chairman was given two years' rigorous imprisonment for assaulting a candidate in the union.
According to the case state, plaintiff of the case Jewel Khan visited Barguna General Hospital to see the ailing UP Chairman Golam Kibria on March 24, 2016. Meanwhile, Golam Kibria assaulted him.
Later, the victim filed a case in this regard under speedy trial tribunal mentioning 18 names.
