Cop commits suicide in city

A police constable committed suicide by jumping from buildings in the city's Kafrul on Friday noon.

The deceased was identified as Sudhangsu Kumar Biswas, 25, hailing from Kharasuni village under Kaliganj upazila in Jhenaidah, who joined police service as a constable in 2015.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost in-charge Bacchu Mia said, Sudhangsu Kumar killed himself after jumping off the third floor of an eight-storey building at the Central Command and Control Centre of police this noon.

The body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
