Coronavirus doesn’t transmit through breast milk: DGHS

Coronavirus does not transmit through breast milk, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of DGHS, said this during online briefing on Wednesday.

She said, “The World Health Organisation (WHO) revealed that transmission of coronavirus infection through breast milk has not been detected till date. So, women can breastfeed to their children wearing masks. However, they should clean their breasts and hands properly before breastfeeding.”
